Gadgets all cost money

Welcome to the Florida Private Investigator Services blog

When it comes to costs and spy tools, it can be a bit surprising. An investigator can use covert cameras such as body worn glasses, ties, hats, buttons and more. It is a little difficult to go into a bar or night club with a camcorder and try to get video if you are walking around with it. It is possible and we have done it in the past, but if you are following a suspicious husband who just had his wife accuse him of cheating and threatening to hire a pi, it sure makes it easier to go covert. With these great cameras you also need (in most cases) a DVR or digital video reorder to capture the images that you are trying to get. These all add to the investigations chance of success and do come at what most would consider to be a steep price. We have seen some cameras and DVR's that are inexpensive and the quality of the captured video tells the experienced user how much they cost. Blurred images and video that isn't even close to being viewable coming from a low lit bar has just wasted time and money. You can look online at spy shops and see the costs of these tools. The best quality DVRS and cameras can again run you over $ 1,000 or more. Plus, they do not last forever. We always try to take back up cameras and DVR's to each job because they can have the inherent ability to malfunction just when you need them most.

This is just another cost that the PI must deal with to help you achieve success in you investigation. Next...the cost of seeing at night for the private investigator

More costs for the Private Investigator

At Florida Private Investigator Services, we feel that the best way to achieve success for our clients is to not only have the experience, training, background and common sense to succeed, but also the technology. In these days of high tech surveillance technology as well as high tech counter abilities, it only makes sense to use the best tools to have the greatest chance of a successful resolution. The days of running around with a high magnification camera and tailing people are far from over, it is just that people are getting smarter. Take for instance a cheating spouse that has been arguing over his or her fidelity. They will be likely be watching for a tail or some other sign that they are being watched or followed. Now with GPS trackers that can be monitored from miles away on a lap top computer as well as many other advanced tools, the problem can be resolved when looking for a way to get the proof that a client may want. Of course, this all comes at a cost. To get the best trackers for the job an investigator can easily spend over $ 1,000. That doesn't include the cost of the monthly monitoring fees as well as the fees for a laptop computer with an air card to follow a possible cheater from miles or even states away. Again, just one tool and once heavy cost. Of course, the chance of success increases dramatically when a tool like this is used and can even save a client money in the long run.

Until next time...

Why do Private Investigators charge so much?

This is a common question. Like anything else there are those that will think that any fee over $ 10.00 per hour for any service is too much. Why do doctors, lawyers, accountants and the plumber charge so much? There are costs of running any business to start with. Overhead such as phones, electric and other utilities. The computer systems, licensing costs and more. The cost to become licensed as an investigator in most states is not cheap and the cost to stay licensed usually isn't just a $ 10.00 fee either. Then there is the expense of even conducting an investigation. The vehicle costs including maintenance, gas and repairs. Just is just the tip of the iceberg. We'll elaborate more next time.

Thanks for allowing me to bore you!
